Mahnoor Shahzad Becomes National Badminton Champion for 5 Years Consecutively

For the fifth consecutive year, Mahnoor Shahzad became the national female badminton champion.

As per details, in the final of 58th edition of the National Badminton Championship that was held at Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex, Charsadda; Mahnoor defeated Ghazala Siddique.

In the meantime, WAPDA’s Ali Larosh, became the national men’s badminton champion after beating WAPDA’s Irfan Saeed 15-21, 21-17, and 27-25. In the women’s doubles final, Mahnoor Shahzad and Ghazala Siddique were defeated by 21-12, 17-21, and 21-15 from Zubaira Islam of SNGPL and Palwasha Bashir of NBP.

At the final ceremony, Director General Sports KP was the chief guest and distributed trophies, awards, and cash prizes of Rs. 500,000 among the winners.

Shahzad is a badminton player from Pakistan. At the 2017 Pakistan International tournament, Shahzad was the women’s singles winner. She competed at the Asian Games in 2014 and the Commonwealth Games in 2018. The previous year, Shahzad said in an interview, “My goal is to represent Pakistan at the Olympics for which I play international tournaments.”
