Major (retd) Khurram Mushtaq Appointed New PIA CEO

Khurram Mushtaq has been named the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The decision was made by PIA’s Board of Directors as Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat’s term comes to an end.

Mushtaq, a seasoned professional with significant experience in the aviation industry, has been a key part of PIA for many years. Over his career, he has held leadership roles in various departments, including commercial operations, airport services, flight services, security, and vigilance. His broad expertise makes him a strong candidate to lead the airline during this transitional phase.

In a separate development, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has given the government the green light to move forward with the privatization of PIA. The court emphasized that the process must be conducted with complete transparency to ensure fairness.

The privatization is part of the government’s efforts to address the financial challenges facing the national carrier. With Mushtaq at the helm, PIA will focus on maintaining operational stability while aligning with the government’s broader vision for its future.

This leadership change marks a new chapter for PIA as it navigates critical changes and works towards improving its performance and reputation.
