Manchar Lake Water Reaches Dangerous Level, Residents Ordered to Evacuate

The situation at Manchar Lake is getting critical with each passing day. Menacing the lives and assets of the residents of five union councils of Jamshoro district.

The lake is situated on a distance of 18 km from Sehwan Sharif in Jamshoro District and Dadu District west of the Indus River.

However, the river level at the lake raised further to 123 Reduced Level (RL) amid strong winds.

Whereas, Jamshoro Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Fariduddin Mustafa instructed to shift the residents of five UCs, stated that they should shift to the safer places.

However, the Sehwan Airport, an installation of an oil company. Moreover, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s home village, are located in the five UCs – Bubak, Aarazi, Wahar, Jaffarabad and Channa.

In the recent visit of Sindh chief minister stated that the water level would be dangerous if it cross 123 fts, at that time it was 120.75 feet.

Moreover, recently the slooshing water flooded two rural towns Jhangara and Bajara and surrounding villages.
