MARI Petroleum Makes Gas Discovery in Sindh

Mari Petroleum Limited recently made a significant discovery in the Sindh region, specifically in the second Ghazij formation. After drilling down to a depth of 1,014 meters, the company has reported promising findings.

This exploration is expected to contribute substantially to the region’s energy resources, with an anticipated output of 6.57 million standard cubic feet of gas per day following the completion of the drilling process.

The gas well’s pressure in the Ghazij formation was measured at 306 pounds per square inch, indicating favorable conditions for extraction. The next step involves putting the well on test production, subject to the completion of necessary regulatory formalities.

It’s noteworthy that Mari Petroleum Limited holds the position of the sole operator of Mari D&PL with a 100% working interest in this venture.

In a related development from the previous year, the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced yet another discovery in Kot Nawab within the Sinjhoro Block, located in Sindh’s Sanghar district.

This discovery included 125 barrels of oil per day, 0.483 million standard cubic feet per day of gas, and 400 barrels of water per day. OGDCL operates the Sinjhoro Block with a 76% stake, in collaboration with Orient Petroleum Inc (19%) and Government Holdings Private Limited (5%) as joint venture partners.
