Masjid Al Nabawi is Larger than Old City of Yathrib (Madinah) Covering 82,000 Square Meters of Ground

Lying over a massive area of 82,000 square meters and towering 12.55 meters in height, the current structure of Masjid Al Nabawi in Madinah surpasses the size of the old city itself.

The mosque has expanded over time by an astounding 100 times. Interestingly, the mosque’s grounds now encompass what was once the outskirts of Madinah, including Jannat ul Baqi.

Notably, Masjid Al Nabawi can accommodate more than 3.2 million worshippers at a time. The gigantic size makes the mosque the second largest globally. Its grand scale and historical significance make it a revered place for prayer and pilgrimage for millions of Muslims worldwide.
