Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s Latest Project is to “Create Some of the Highest Quality Beef in the World”

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, recently revealed a new venture he’s undertaking – cattle ranching. The billionaire is now involved in raising cattle at Ko’olau Ranch on Kauai with the goal of producing top-quality beef globally.

Zuckerberg, known for his intense exercise routines, has started raising Wagyu and Angus cattle, breeds renowned for their high-quality beef. He plans to feed them a diet that includes macadamia meal and locally produced beer from the ranch. Angus, a breed from Scotland, is widely appreciated in the United States for its steak, and Wagyu consists of four Japanese cattle breeds specifically raised for their beef.

Highlighting the significance of a localized and vertically integrated approach, Zuckerberg explained, “We want the whole process to be local and vertically integrated. Each cow eats 5,000-10,000 pounds of food each year, so that’s a lot of acres of macadamia trees.”

Zuckerberg’s ambitious plan reflects his dedication to producing the best beef possible. By focusing on specific breeds and providing them with a carefully curated diet, he aims to ensure a high-quality product. The emphasis on a localized and vertically integrated approach means that the entire production process, from raising the cattle to their diet, is kept within a local framework.

This venture adds to Zuckerberg’s diverse portfolio, showcasing his interest in exploring different industries. It also aligns with a growing trend among wealthy individuals investing in agriculture and sustainable food practices. Zuckerberg’s foray into cattle ranching not only brings attention to the premium beef he aims to produce but also highlights his commitment to a localized and environmentally conscious production process.
