Metro Bus Service Suspended in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

Metro Bus operations between Rawalpindi and Islamabad were suspended after employees launched a protest at Pothohar Station against unpaid salaries and alleged unfair dismissals by the new management.

According to protesting workers, salaries for the past two months have not been paid, leaving many employees struggling financially. They also claimed that several long-serving staff members were removed from their jobs without proper justification after the change in management.

During the protest, employees gathered on the metro tracks carrying placards and chanting slogans against the company, which brought the bus service to a complete halt. The suspension created severe problems for thousands of commuters who rely on the Metro Bus daily to travel between the twin cities for work, education, and other activities.

Workers stated that the protest will continue until all pending salaries are cleared and dismissed employees are reinstated. The situation caused heavy inconvenience at stations, with large crowds of passengers left waiting as transport operations remained disrupted.
