Mian Mansha Wants Pakistan to End Ex-PM Imran’s Trade Ban on India

It is time for Pakistan and India to resume trade and expand ties for the better, Nishat conglomerate head Mian Mohammed Mansha said in a recent interview with The Indian Express.

Mr Mian Mansha, Pakistan’s leading industrialist, said that many synergies between the two countries could come into play once trade begins.

“I feel very passionately that we need to settle our issues with India. Well, whatever problems are hindering you, let them be there.

But once they come to each other’s country through trade, tourism, religious tourism or regular tourism, I think the doors will open,” he said.

Earlier this year, at a conference of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the chairman of the Nishat Group called for trade to resume with India to pursue a regional approach to economic development.

Mr Mansha reiterated his statements made at that meeting, saying that if India can continue to import from China despite its border problems, there is no reason why Pakistan should not resume trade with India, the report said.

“I believe that there is nothing better than having good relations with your neighbours. And you can’t change neighbours,” he said, implying that importing from India would benefit Pakistan.
