Millions Gather Across Yemen to Mark Prophet Muhammad’s (S.A.W) Birthday

Large crowds gathered in different parts of Yemen to observe the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, with major commemorations reported in the capital, Sana’a.

Sabeen Square in Sana’a became one of the main locations for the celebrations, drawing large numbers of people for religious gatherings. Similar events were also held in other cities, bringing communities together for prayers and remembrance.

Participants expressed their love and respect for the Prophet ﷺ through collective prayers, recitation of Naats and religious gatherings. Public spaces and streets were decorated for the occasion, adding to the festive atmosphere across the communities taking part.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ is observed in different ways across Muslim communities around the world, with gatherings often centred on remembrance, prayers and reflection on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

In Yemen, the occasion has long been marked through large public events and community gatherings. This year’s celebrations once again brought people together to honour the Prophet ﷺ and reflect on his message and teachings.

The large attendance in Sana’a and other parts of the country reflected the importance of the occasion for many Yemenis. Families and communities participated in religious activities while public areas remained decorated throughout the celebrations.

The gatherings also provided an opportunity for communities to come together in a shared religious observance, highlighting the cultural and spiritual significance of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.

The celebrations across Yemen formed part of wider commemorations held by Muslim communities in different parts of the world to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
