When Misbah-ul-Haq and Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir were reunited for the Legends League Cricket (LLC) in Qatar, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi professed his respect for Misbah-ul-Haq.
Afridi, who is also a member of the LLC, commended Misbah for his forgiving nature and emphasised the value of refraining from disparaging one another in public.
Amir, though, came under fire from some quarters after a photo of the former teammates went viral on social media.
Amir, who had earlier quit from international cricket in protest at Misbah’s leadership, joined the Asia Lions side and played the tournament under Misbah’s captaincy.
Afridi was asked about sorting out the issues between Misbah and Amir during a local TV show. He praised Misbah’s ability to forgive and urged players to avoid making negative statements about each other. Afridi stressed that Misbah’s forgiving nature is rare in Pakistani society.
