Mohammad Nawaz’s Doping Test Positive, PCB Launched Investigation

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched a formal investigation after reports emerged that national all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz tested positive for a prohibited substance during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

According to initial information, the International Cricket Council (ICC) notified the PCB about the adverse test result, which is believed to involve a recreational drug rather than a performance-enhancing substance. In response, the PCB has begun a detailed review to examine the circumstances surrounding the case, including any possible explanations or mitigating factors. The board is expected to share its findings with the ICC as part of the standard anti-doping procedures.

Despite the controversy, Nawaz continues to play domestic cricket and is currently representing Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). His ongoing participation indicates that no provisional suspension has been imposed so far, though the situation could change depending on the outcome of the investigation.

Authorities have not yet announced any disciplinary action, emphasizing that the matter is still under review and due process will be followed. Further updates are expected once the PCB completes its inquiry and consults with the ICC on the next steps.
