Mohammad Rizwan Surpasses Muhammad Hafeez, Becomes Leading Six-Hitter for Pakistan in T20Is

In the T20 International (T20I) match between Pakistan and New Zealand at Seddon Park, Hamilton on January 14, Mohammad Rizwan achieved a remarkable milestone in his T20I career. Rizwan, who typically opens the innings for Pakistan in T20Is, became the all-time leading six-hitter for Pakistan in T20 Internationals.

This achievement came as Rizwan hit a six off the very first ball he faced in the innings, delivered by New Zealand’s Tim Southee. This particular six took Rizwan’s total tally of sixes in T20Is to 77, surpassing the previous record held by Mohammad Hafeez. Mohammad Hafeez, the current team director and a former cricketer, previously held the record for the most sixes hit by a Pakistani player in T20 Internationals.

Rizwan’s accomplishment underlines not only his ability to score quickly but also his significant contribution to Pakistan’s T20I batting lineup. His aggressive approach and proficiency in hitting sixes make him a key player for Pakistan in the shortest format of the game. This milestone adds another feather to Rizwan’s cap as he continues to make a mark in international cricket.
