Monsoon rains began today in various parts of the country

Monsoon rains are expected to begin today, according to the meteorological department, and will likely last through July 17.

There is a possibility of drizzling in different areas of Karachi city during the night, rains are predicted from today till July 17 across Punjab including Lahore.

Rain is expected in Azad Kashmir, Potohar region, East Punjab, and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the possibility of rain with gale, strong winds, and thundershowers has been predicted in Islamabad.

Heavy rains with strong winds and gales are predicted in Kashmir, Murree, Guliyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, Attock, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Hafizabad, and Gujranwala.

Heavy rain with thundershowers is expected in Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral, Swat Mansehra, Peshawar, Mardan Lakki Marwat, and Kohat.

It was predicted by the Meteorological Department that from July 14 to 16, Barkhan, Loralai, Lasbela, Sukkur, and Jackabad are likely to experience heavy rain with strong winds and thunder.

According to the forecast, the low-lying areas in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Gujranwala are likely to be flooded from July 14 to 17. The majority of the country is expected to experience hot, muggy weather today, according to the meteorological department.

Federal Minister Sherry Rehman says that a new spell of monsoon is starting from July 13, which is likely to continue till July 17.

There is a possibility that low-lying areas in Islamabad, Peshawar, and Lahore will be flooded due to rain, he said. That there is a risk of landslides in the hilly areas of Murree, Guliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
