Motorway Police Achieve Target ‘Zero Accident’ in Foggy Weather 2022-23

By successfully implementing the zero-accident policy during the foggy weather of 2022–2023, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has met its goal.

No accidents were reported during the recent foggy weather, according to an NHMP spokesperson, who said that using current technology and responding quickly to incidents were the two most important things to maintain safe passenger travel.

Heavy fog has contributed to 23 pileup incidents on the highways during the past 12 years.

Nine accidents were reported in the last two years, resulting in 29 fatalities and more than 140 injuries. While 176 automobiles were damaged, the financial loss from these accidents was estimated to be more than Rs10 million.
