Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has given the Motorway Police one month to end all corruption. He warned that any officer involved in bribery or other corrupt acts will be removed from the job and face criminal cases.
The minister spoke during a video meeting with the All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance. He told the Inspector General of Motorways to find and dismiss these “black sheep” quickly. No corrupt official should stay in the force.
Khan also ordered the immediate start of the axle load policy. Overloaded trucks will not be allowed on any motorway. He said transport owners have agreed to follow the rules to protect roads and bridges.
Transporters shared problems about weight limits, SROs and daily operations. The minister promised to solve their real issues soon. He invited their leaders to Islamabad on Monday for more talks. He asked everyone to solve problems through discussion, not extreme steps.
Khan said motorways are a national asset. Government and transporters must work together to keep them safe and clean.
