Murree, known as the Queen of Mountains, draws many tourists every year. Recently, a so-called new waterfall on the Murree-Rawalpindi GT Road has shocked visitors. The site sits between Chatta Mor and Bansera Gali. What looks like a pretty natural fall is in fact a dirty sewage drain carrying wastewater from the city.
A group has turned this drain into an artificial picnic spot. Tourists come every day, take photos and videos, and some even step into the water. They do not know it is contaminated sewage. Local cameramen and taxi drivers bring people to the place and charge money for the visit.
The discovery has spread online and raised serious worries. Murree is a major tourist town, so clean drainage and waste systems are very important. Untreated sewage harms both the environment and public health. Residents and visitors have asked the district administration to close the fake picnic spot at once.
