NADRA Installs ATM-Style Machines For Faster CNIC Services

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced ATM style self service kiosks to make CNIC related services faster and reduce long queues at its centres.

The new machines have touchscreens and allow citizens to complete selected identity services after verifying their identity. According to a NADRA spokesperson, the kiosks could handle the needs of around 65% to 70% of citizens, helping reduce pressure on service counters.

The kiosks can be used for services such as CNIC renewal, replacement of lost or damaged cards, and some other identity document requests. However, cases that need additional documents, biometric checks or other physical verification may still require a visit to a NADRA center.

NADRA is also expanding its digital services through the PakID mobile app, which allows eligible users to apply for identity documents and track applications. The authority currently operates 963 registration centres, 14 Mega Centres and 234 Mobile Registration Vans across Pakistan.
