NADRA Launches Automated Finger Identification System ‘Nadir’

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a cutting-edge Automated Finger Identification System (AFIS) called ‘Nadir.’ The new system aims to streamline the process of identifying individuals through their fingerprints, thereby increasing the efficiency and accuracy of NADRA’s operations.

The new system was launched by the Chairman of NADRA, Tariq Malik, at a ceremony in Islamabad on Monday. Speaking at the event, Malik highlighted the importance of technology in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of NADRA’s operations.

The Nadir system will allow NADRA officials to capture and analyze fingerprints of individuals in real-time, thereby making it easier to identify and authenticate individuals.

The system can store up to 100 million fingerprints and is equipped with advanced algorithms that can quickly and accurately match fingerprints to a database of records.

The new system will not only improve the efficiency of NADRA’s operations but will also help to eliminate fraud and ensure the accuracy of records. The Nadir system will be used across a range of NADRA services, including identification, passport issuance, and voter registration.

The launch of Nadir is part of NADRA’s ongoing efforts to modernize and digitize its services, making them more efficient and user-friendly. The new system is expected to reduce waiting times and improve the accuracy of NADRA’s services.
