The National Database and Registration Authority- NADRA within two weeks will provide the first Computerized National Identity Card the CNIC free of cost.
Mr Sheikh Rasheed, the Interior Minister, announced on media at NADRA Headquarters that the issuance of free CNIC will be for all Pakistanis. He mentioned the timeframe that is shortened to like fifteen days instead of the forty days.
He also stated to open the fifty new NADRA centres all across Pakistan to serve the normal public. Passport offices and offices of ID cards will remain open in all the embassies and areas of Pakistan, which will also be administered by NADRA itself and it is also supported by Foreign Office that is in Pakistan.
