Naz Gul Hazara, a renowned Balochistan martial artist won more than 50 medals for Pakistan in international Karate competitions

Naz Gul Hazara, a hidden gem, just earned a gold medal in the International Karate Championship, making Pakistan proud, yet no local media paid notice to her.

Even in Pakistan, there are schools and training centres where boys and girls clad in exquisite karategi learn in this ancient martial art with their trainers.

Balochitan inhabitants are more talented than anyone else in the country, and they credit Bruce Lee as one of their primary influences in popularising martial arts in their region.

Some even aspire to, and have succeeded in, representing Pakistan on a worldwide scale. One such person is Naz Gul. She was one of the few female ‘karatekas’ to compete internationally for Pakistan.
