NEPRA Approves Hike in Power Tariff

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase of Rs1.25 in the price of electricity.

According to NEPRA, the decision taken under the third quarter adjustment of the discos for the financial year 2022-23 will be applicable to the bills of July, August and September 2023.

The authority held a public hearing on May 24 on the request of discos, before consumers were being charged 47 paise as quarterly adjustments till June.

The decision will apply to all discos users except Lifeline users. The decision will also not apply to K-Electric customers.
