A newly built road in Hyderabad, Sindh, has left electricity poles standing in the middle of the roadway. The route connects the N-5 National Highway to Alamdar Chowk in Qasimabad, but the poles remain an obstruction that could cause a major accident.
Road completed around the poles
The municipal corporation carried out the road construction with support from the Sindh government. Rather than the electricity poles being removed from its path, the road was built around them.
Obstructions raise accident concerns
The resulting link between the highway and Alamdar Chowk has fixed obstacles within the roadway. The concern is the risk of a major accident on a road where construction has been completed without clearing the poles from the middle.
