Nine Sacrificial Goats Suffocate to De@th Inside Passenger Bus Luggage Compartment in Punjab

Nine sacrificial goats reportedly d!ed from suffocation while being transported in the luggage compartment of a passenger coach traveling from Sadiqabad in Rahim Yar Khan to Sialkot. The tragic incident is believed to have occurred due to intense heat, overcrowding, and a severe lack of ventilation inside the compartment during the journey.

According to initial reports, the condition of the animals came to light when the luggage section was opened near a railway crossing, where several goats were found lifeless. Passengers at the scene recorded videos showing the aftermath, which quickly spread across social media and sparked concern over the treatment and transportation of sacrificial animals ahead of Eid al-Adha.

The incident has raised questions about animal safety measures during long-distance transport, especially as livestock movement increases across the country in the days leading up to the religious festival. Many social media users called for stricter monitoring and improved transport conditions to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

Meanwhile, authorities have officially confirmed the sighting of the Zilhajj moon, announcing that Eid al-Adha will be observed across Pakistan on 27 May. Preparations for the festival are now accelerating nationwide, with cattle markets witnessing heavy activity as people continue purchasing sacrificial animals for the occasion.
