No Entry! Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban on Indian Aircraft to August 24

Pakistan has officially extended its airspace restrictions on Indian-registered aircraft, Indian-operated airlines, and aircraft leased or operated by Indian companies until August 24, 2026, according to a fresh Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).

The renewed directive, implemented under government instructions, continues restrictions that were first imposed in April 2025 following heightened tensions between Pakistan and India.

Under the latest NOTAM, Indian commercial and registered aircraft will remain prohibited from using Pakistani airspace, with no changes made to the existing policy.

The continued closure of Pakistan’s airspace is expected to affect the operational planning of Indian airlines, many of which are required to take longer alternative routes for international flights.

These diversions can result in increased fuel consumption, extended travel times, and higher operational costs for carriers.

Officials stated that the extension reflects the government’s current aviation and security policy amid ongoing regional tensions.

The Pakistan Airports Authority has confirmed that the restrictions will remain in force until the newly announced expiry date unless revised or withdrawn through a subsequent official notification.
