Master Changan Motors increased its prices by Rs 120,000 on all its cars but there was a strong backlash by customers and they were not happy due to which the government intervened to hold the price increase and the notification was suspended.
The company said, “Until further notice, the price of all Changan models are currently being suffered”. The customers that have booked vehicles already will be served.
The notice given by the company reasoned that the price hike was due to increase in freight charges to $4000 from $800 and appealed to the government to help them by providing operational relief and reducing the freight charges, so in future price hikes could be avoided.
