Rice export to Russia has increased as Russia declares 15 more rice mills as eligible. Pakistan’s rice export to Russia has already contributed $2.5 billion during the previous fiscal year. The news was confirmed by the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan.
The permission has been granted by the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia, also called Rosselkhoznadzor. Moreover, Russia has given a positive signal to the Department of Plant Protection stating that the registration of 15 more mills has been finalized.
Previously, only 4 mills were registered for rice export after the inspection report delivered by the Russian technical delegation. Hence, a total of 19 rice mills are now exporting high-quality rice to Russia. DPP took several steps to meet the standards of the Russian Federation including quality control, food safety, phytosanitary measures, quality packaging, and storage.
This decision will significantly contribute to the economy of Pakistan.
