Now You Can Hide Private Chat List on WhatsApp

WhatsApp is introducing a new privacy feature, allowing users to not only lock their chats but also hide the folder containing these secured conversations. This feature, currently in beta testing, enables users to conceal their locked chats folder by entering a ‘secret code’ in the search bar. After implementing the code, the locked chats won’t appear in the regular chats list, requiring users to use the secret code to access them via the search bar.

WA Beta Info previewed the feature and mentioned the potential addition of a function allowing users to clear the list of locked chats within privacy settings, handy for situations where the secret code is forgotten. WhatsApp had earlier introduced chat locking with password or fingerprint protection, ensuring an additional layer of security. Notably, media shared within these chats won’t be automatically saved to the device.

This enhancement aligns with WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to bolster user privacy, offering more nuanced control over the visibility of sensitive conversations. As digital communication security gains importance, features like these provide users with greater flexibility in managing their private chats and ensuring an added level of discretion.
