Security has been significantly tightened in Islamabad’s Red Zone as authorities move to high alert ahead of the expected second round of talks between the United States and Iran. In view of the sensitive situation, the government has decided that all federal offices in the area will remain closed on Wednesday as a precautionary step.
Officials have instructed employees of all ministries, divisions, and other federal departments located within the Red Zone to work from home for the day. The move is aimed at minimizing movement in the high-security zone and ensuring that security operations can be carried out without disruption.
According to an official notification, the temporary closure reflects the heightened security concerns and the importance of maintaining strict control over the area during the anticipated diplomatic engagement. Authorities are taking no chances, given the significance of the talks and the potential implications for regional stability.
Law enforcement agencies have also increased their presence in and around the Red Zone, with additional checkpoints, restricted access points, and surveillance measures in place. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel near the area and to cooperate fully with security personnel to ensure a smooth and secure environment during this critical period.
