Oman to Invest $ 2.3 Billion in 1087 Km Railway Line from Jacobabad to Gwadar

Investors from Oman showed their interest in investment in Pakistan’s Railway Infrastructure Development and Power projects.

A delegation of Omani investors, under an ownership of Al Anvwar Asian Investments, Dr. Anwar Al Balushi, met with Minister for Board of Investment Chaudhary Salik Hussain in Islamabad, shared views about the possible investment.

As per contract proposal investors showed their keen interest in the construction of a 1,087-kilometer-long rail track from Gwadar to Jacobabad, Sindh.

A renowned as a top global facilitator in project financing, Anvwar Asia Investment Company signed a MoU (memorandum of understanding) in the beginning of this year with Pakistan Railways.

A feasibility report of the project was assisted by Railcop.

As per sources, after a detailed discussion Pakistan Railways signed an agreement with an investment firm from Oman, initial funding of $500 million for the construction of railway tracks will be received this week.
