Over Rs. 7 Billion Recoverd in Crackdown on Power Theft in Pakistan

In an effort to stop people from stealing electricity, the Power Division has been working all over the country. They’ve managed to get back a lot of money, more than Rs7 billion, from those who were stealing electricity. They’ve also registered cases against these people.

In just 17 days, they got around Rs7.9 billion back from these electricity thieves. They caught 2,001 people who were involved in stealing electricity and filed more than 15,000 reports about it (called FIRs).

One of the companies, LESCO, got back over Rs2.15 billion from these thieves and caught 471 suspects. In the MEPCO area, they got more than Rs1.86 billion back and arrested 698 people.

In different regions, like PESCO, FESCO, QESCO, GEPCO, and TESCO, they arrested a total of 839 electricity thieves as part of this effort to stop theft.
