Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited has taken another major step toward sustainable industrial development by introducing new renewable energy facilities at its manufacturing plant in Karachi. The initiative is part of the company’s broader commitment to reducing environmental impact and promoting cleaner production methods within Pakistan’s automotive sector.
As part of the project, the company has successfully installed and activated a biogas plant with a production capacity of 100 cubic meters per day, along with a 920kW solar power system. Both facilities are now fully operational and contributing to the plant’s energy requirements through renewable sources.
The newly established biogas plant uses Napier grass and organic cafeteria waste to generate energy, allowing the company to convert biodegradable material into a cleaner fuel source. This approach not only helps reduce waste but also supports more efficient and environmentally responsible energy consumption within industrial operations.
In addition, the solar power system is expected to generate nearly 1.39 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. The large-scale solar installation will help decrease dependence on conventional energy sources while lowering carbon emissions associated with manufacturing activities.
Company officials stated that the renewable energy initiative aligns with long-term sustainability and carbon neutrality goals. They added that the project reflects a growing focus on environmentally friendly manufacturing practices and demonstrates how industrial sectors in Pakistan are gradually adopting greener technologies.
The development also highlights Pakistan’s increasing shift toward renewable energy adoption as businesses and industries explore alternative energy solutions to improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, and contribute to environmental protection efforts.
