Pak vs eng: First Test Ever to Have 2 Double-Century Opening Partnerships

The Rawalpindi pitch on which England racked up a world-record 506 runs on the first day of the first Test was “embarrassing”, according to PCB chairman Ramiz Raja.

A flat pitch in the ongoing first Test between Pakistan and England in Rawalpindi has led to numerous batting records with bowlers on the receiving end.

This is the first time in Test history that both opening partnerships have made 200-plus runs in the first and second innings.

“This is not a good advert for cricket. We’re a better cricketing nation than this.”Ramiz Raja said.

On Thursday England became the first team to score 500 runs on the opening day of a Test match, bettering Australia´s 112-year-old record of 494-6 against South Africa in Sydney.
