Pakistan and Germany agreed to suspend the payment of 26.2 million euros in debt payments

On Thursday, Pakistan and Germany agreed to suspend debt service for a total of 26.213 million euros under the Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI).

On behalf of their respective governments, the German development bank KfW and the Economic Affairs Division signed the agreement. The signing of the agreement takes place in conjunction with Pakistan and Germany’s 60th anniversary of development partnership.

KfW works with Pakistan on a portfolio of more than 600 million euros in financial cooperation in the areas of energy, environment, governance, training, and job creation for long-term economic growth.
