Pakistan and Korea Sign Deal To Expand EV Charging Infrastructure

According to a statement released on Monday, for extending electric vehicles charging infrastructure, a leading renewable energy solution provider of Pakistan- Zi Solar Pvt Ltd and a Korean global leader in renewable energy- Aeonus Co Ltd has a private partnership deal.

The signing event was held in Karachi, at the office of the Korea Trade-Investment Cooperation Agency. While the collaboration deal was signed between the Director of business from Zi Solar- M Bilal Zaigham, CEO of Zi Solar- Mohammad Farooq, and CEO of Aeonus- Eun Heo, Daniel from Aeonus.

The sources said that this partnership will arrange best-in-class Korean-made electric vehicles (EV) charging and capacity gear in Pakistan. As well as they both will contribute to research work for promoting EV infrastructure & facilities in Pakistan.

The cooperation is under the government’s goals to advance electric vehicles in Pakistan to work on the climate and to decrease the oil import bill. As well as this partnership is in line with the Electric Vehicles Policy 2020/25 of Pakistan, targeting the vigorous market of EV’S,

The chief executives of Aeonus and Zi Solar, also acknowledge the part of Kotra [The Trade & Investment Office, Embassy of the Republic of Korea] & Pakistan Embassy in Seoul for assisting the 2 companies in linking with each other.

As per Bilal Zaigham’s statement, electric vehicles are gaining popularity in Pakistan at a quick speed. And to maintain this trend, there is a requirement for consistent & efficient charging solutions & equipment.

He further said, “Our partnership with AeonHeous Co Ltd would prove to be a milestone in enhancing the growth of electric vehicles in Pakistan.”

CEO of Aeonus- Eun Heo, applauded the collaboration by saying that, “We are proud to select Zi Solar as our exclusive partner in Pakistan to provide renewable energy solutions. The provision of modern electric vehicle charging equipment and solutions based on Korean technology to Pakistan also reflect our commitments.”

Under the signed MoU, Zi Solar Pvt Ltd will work with the establishment of electric vehicles charging framework & Smart Mobility Charging Outlets alongside disseminating each of the three degrees of quick electric vehicles chargers, including over 50kWDC (level three chargers) and over 7kW AC (level two chargers).

Additionally, it added that Zi Solar will likewise be giving the electric energy storage system (EESS) with a solar panel for the electric vehicles charging framework.
