Pakistan and Thailand Have Signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Defence Cooperation

On March 5, 2021, Pakistan and Thailand signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation. The MoU was signed on behalf of the Government of Pakistan by Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, and the Government of Thailand was represented by General Natt Intracharoen, Permanent Secretary of Defence.

The Ambassador met with the Permanent Secretary of Defense prior to the signing ceremony. The two sides spoke about issues of mutual interests and ways to promote the broad-based defence relations.

Pakistan values its bilateral security and defence relations with Thailand, which date back to the 1950s and have grown stronger over time thanks to high-level visits and institutionalized dialogue. The Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation will serve as a stable foundation for consolidating and enhancing bilateral defence and security cooperation between the two countries.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Thailand.
