Pakistan Army Declares Friday as Dry Day (No Fuel Consumption)

With rising fuel prices and poor financial conditions, the Pakistani Armed Forces have taken extraordinary measures to save on gasoline and diesel.

Following these measures, the armed forces will observe every Friday as a “dry day”, and no official transport will be used on a dry day.

According to local media reports, the Pakistani army has 16% of the national defense budget this year.

At least Rs. 935 billion has been collected in the name of taxes and duties over the last five years.

As per the sources, the Pakistan Army saved Rs. 6,000 crore from its allocated funds for the fight against Covid19 and returned this amount to the government.

In addition, the army returned 3.5 billion rupees of the allotted amount to purchase war equipment to the government.

As part of the fuel economy policy, the armed forces have decided to conduct limited training near quarters rather than large-scale war games.
