Pakistan Beats Canada by 8-1 in Men’s FIH Hockey Nations Cup Game

In an exciting FIH Nations Cup match, Pakistan achieved a decisive 8-1 victory over Canada in Gniezno, Poland, on Monday. This win is significant for Pakistan, as it is their first victory in the tournament after their initial match ended in a draw.

Rana Waheed Ashraf was the star player, scoring four goals. He received strong support from Ghazanfar Ali, who scored two goals, and Abdul Rehman and Hannan Shahid, who each added one goal.

Canada started the match strong with an early goal from Sean Davis, but Waheed Ashraf quickly equalized for Pakistan. Ashraf then scored again in the 27th minute, giving Pakistan a one-goal lead at halftime.

In the third quarter, Ghazanfar Ali scored another goal, furthering Pakistan’s lead. The final quarter was particularly impressive for Pakistan, as they scored five more goals in the last ten minutes, showcasing their dominance.

This impressive win places Pakistan at the top of Pool B with four points. In their previous match, Pakistan managed to secure a draw against Malaysia, thanks to a last-minute goal that helped them overcome a three-goal deficit.

Looking ahead, Pakistan is set to play their final pool match against France on June 5. The top two teams from each pool will advance to the semi-finals, and with this victory, Pakistan has strengthened their chances of moving forward in the tournament.
