Pakistan Creates Test Record in Sri Lanka Beating England and Australia

Pakistan has emerged victorious against Sri Lanka with an impressive innings and 222-run lead in the second Test held in Colombo, clinching the series with a 2-0 score. This win has further cemented Pakistan’s position as the team with the most Test series wins in Sri Lanka.

In addition, the defeat for Sri Lanka has marked a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s Test cricket history as it is their largest margin of Test defeat on home turf. This victory has surpassed a similarly crushing defeat Sri Lanka faced against South Africa in 1993 where they lost by an innings and 208 runs.

In the first Test held in Galle, Pakistan had already set the tone for the series with a four-wicket victory over the hosts. Pakistan has now secured their fifth Test series win in Sri Lanka, surpassing other cricketing giants such as Australia and England, both of whom have four Test series wins in the island nation.
