India hasn’t given visas to the Pakistan cricket team for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. Because of this, Pakistan had to cancel their “team-bonding trip” to Dubai. They were supposed to go to Dubai first and then to India for a warm-up match on September 29.
Now, they plan to go to Dubai and then travel to Hyderabad (India) next Wednesday. Pakistan is the only team among nine that hasn’t received their visas yet.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) told the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the delay, and the World Cup starts on October 5. The PCB has been talking to the Indian Consulate for a week, but visas were still not issued by Friday, which was the last working day of the week.
Travel between these two countries has been tough due to diplomatic tensions, and they haven’t played cricket series in each other’s countries since 2012-2013.
