Pakistan will observe a nationwide public holiday on August 26, 2026, as the government has officially declared the day off to mark Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH).
The Cabinet Division issued the official notification after the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon was not sighted on August 13, determining the date for the religious occasion.
The day will be observed across the country with religious gatherings, prayers and events commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Public institutions and offices will observe the announced holiday in accordance with the government notification.
