Pakistan has unveiled two new long-range loitering drones, the D-248 and S-369, developed by Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT). The systems were displayed at the 2026 Indus Robotics and Autonomous Systems Expo earlier this month.
The D-248 is the longer-range model, with a reported reach of between 2,200 and 3,000 kilometres. It can carry a payload of 30 to 50 kilograms and has a maximum speed of around 225 kilometres per hour. It is designed to fly for up to 14 hours.
The S-369 has a reported range of 1,500 to 2,000 kilometres and can also carry up to 50 kilograms.
Both systems are described as loitering munitions, meaning they can remain in the air while looking for their intended target before striking.
The new systems add to Pakistan’s growing focus on locally developed drone technology. Officials have previously called domestic drone development a national priority as unmanned systems become increasingly important in modern warfare.
