Pakistan Has Received More Than $2 Billion Remittances for 10th Consecutive Month

The State Bank of Pakistan stated on Monday that remittances increased by 26% in March, with a record run of over $2 billion in remittances for the 10th consecutive month.

“Remittances totaled $2.7 billion, up 20 percent from February and 43 percent from March 20. Remittances totaled $21.5 billion in July-March FY21, up 26% from the same timeframe the previous year “”It’s a new year,” the central bank said on twitter.

Prime Minister Imran Khan praised the overseas Pakistanis for their “unparalleled love and commitment to the nation,” expressing his delight at the progress.

In a positive sign, remittances continued to outperform expectations in March, remaining above $2 billion for the tenth month in a row.
