In the largest-ever fundraising round for a Pakistani business, Pakistan’s up-and-coming startup airlift has received $85 million in Series B funding. The investment also includes some high-profile investors and is the largest Series B raised by a business in the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan.
From all sides, congratulations are pouring in. On Friday, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the company on Twitter.
“We appreciate the recent investment of 85 million dollars by renowned global VCs in Airlift, a startup run by young Pakistanis,” PM Khan stated.
“Pakistan has enormous potential, and we are open for business,” he continued. My government is completely dedicated to fostering opportunities.”
