Pakistan Journalist Imran Riaz Khan Nominated for Human Rights Award

Imran Riaz Khan, a Pakistani TV show host and YouTuber, who went missing for over four months and returned home in September, has been nominated for the Human Rights Award (2023) by the Human Rights Council of Pakistan.

Imran, known for his bold interviews and criticism of the PDM alliance, lost 22 kilograms during his detention and is currently undergoing recovery.

His nomination reflects the challenges faced by journalists in Pakistan, where press freedom has often been restricted, especially during times of political crisis and economic turmoil.

Imran Riaz Khan was arrested during a nationwide crackdown on supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
