Pakistan permits the shipment of poultry to Afghanistan

The ban on the shipment of poultry and poultry products to Afghanistan has been abolished by Pakistan. Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, confirmed the news in a tweet on Wednesday.

He claimed that it would not only lower poultry prices in Afghanistan, but also ensure that the general public had access to fresh chicken and eggs.

According to state broadcaster, he also stated that Pakistan is working with large poultry enterprises to invest in joint ventures with Afghan traders in order to grow the indigenous chicken production in Afghanistan to self-sufficiency levels.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) removed the sales tax on fresh fruits imported from Afghanistan earlier this month.
