Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves top record $26.8 billion amid Gulf war
The State Bank of Pakistan said reserves exceeded $26.8 billion in November 2026, compared with $16.6 billion in February, despite the US-Iran war.

Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves reached a record high of more than $26.8 billion in November 2026 amid the Gulf war, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said on Thursday.
Reserves had stood at $16.6 billion in February 2026. The November total marked an increase from that level, with the country building its foreign currency holdings despite the US-Iran war.
Foreign exchange reserves help countries pay for imports and meet international debt obligations. The funds provide resources for these payments to be made abroad.
