Pakistan is preparing to send its locally assembled vehicles to Bangladesh this month, giving the country’s auto industry a new export opportunity. The first shipment will contain 100 vehicles on trial basis, while the wider plan targets 5,800 units over four years.
The exports will be handled by MG JW Automobile Pakistan under an agreement with Bangladesh’s RANCON Group. The deal was signed in July and is expected to lead to larger commercial shipments from next year.
MG Pakistan will also provide technical assistance to its Bangladeshi partner, including support for assembly and quality checks. A Pakistani engineering team is expected to visit Bangladesh as part of this cooperation.
Two models produced in Pakistan with support from China’s SAIC Motor are included in the export plan. These vehicles were previously supplied to Bangladesh from China. The new arrangement will instead allow them to reach the Bangladeshi market from Pakistan.
The government sees the deal as a step toward increasing vehicle exports, earning foreign exchange and building Pakistan’s automotive manufacturing base.
