Pakistan To Host Two Major Tennis Events In 2026

Pakistan is set to host two consecutive international women’s tennis tournaments in Islamabad starting from October 5, 2026, in a significant step forward for the development of women’s sports in the country.

The tournaments will be held under the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Women’s World Tennis Tour and will each offer a prize pool of $15,000. The events are expected to attract players from different countries, providing valuable competition and exposure for local athletes.

This will be the first time Pakistan hosts two ITF Women’s Futures tournaments back-to-back, creating an important opportunity for emerging Pakistani players to compete at an international level without having to travel abroad.

Sports officials believe the tournaments will help local players gain ranking points, improve their performance, and build experience against international competitors. The events are also expected to contribute to the growth and visibility of women’s tennis across the country.

The initiative comes as Pakistan continues efforts to strengthen its sports infrastructure and provide more opportunities for female athletes. Tennis authorities say hosting international competitions can play a key role in developing future talent and encouraging greater participation in the sport.

The tournaments will also serve as important preparation for players ahead of future international events, including the prestigious Billie Jean King Cup. Officials hope that regular exposure to high-level competition will help Pakistani athletes improve their rankings and achieve stronger results on the global stage.

Sports enthusiasts have welcomed the announcement, viewing it as a positive sign for the future of women’s tennis in Pakistan. The tournaments are expected to bring international attention to the country’s sporting potential and inspire the next generation of female tennis players.
