Pakistan to Launch Electric Cart Service at Major Airports for Passenger Convenience

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) is preparing to introduce a new electric cart service at major airports across the country in an effort to improve passenger convenience and streamline internal transportation.

Under the first phase of the project, the service will be launched at Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan airports. These electric carts will help passengers move more easily between parking areas and terminal concourse halls, reducing walking distances and making airport navigation smoother, especially during peak travel times or for those carrying luggage.

According to officials, the initiative is designed to enhance the overall passenger experience by offering a quick and comfortable mobility option within airport premises. The service will be especially beneficial for elderly travellers, families with children, and passengers who require additional assistance due to mobility challenges.

Authorities have also confirmed that the electric carts will be bookable through a dedicated mobile application, allowing travellers to request transport in a more organized and efficient manner. This digital booking system is expected to reduce waiting times and improve service management inside airports.

Overall, the project reflects the PAA’s broader efforts to modernize airport facilities and introduce passenger-friendly innovations aimed at improving accessibility, comfort, and operational efficiency.
