Pakistan to Sign Agreement with IMF this Month: PM Shehbaz Sharif

According to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, his administration would be able to reach a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the Extended Fund Facility’s ninth review this month.

The premier made the remark while speaking at the Green Line Express Train Service’s official opening ceremony at the Margalla Train Station. “I am hopeful that we will reach an agreement with the IMF this month and we will come out of these difficulties and then multilateral and bilateral institutions will work with us,” he added.

The government has created a list of commodities that must be imported based on their necessity, the premier added, noting the critical state of the foreign exchange reserves.

The list also includes food and medical supplies, he continued.
